Non-lead radiation shielding accessories (Rad-Ban H/ ARM/TH)

These products have been declared the first class of medical device from The Ministry of   Food and

Drug Safety (Product License No. : 17-1247, 18-962) in Korea. And this medical device is approved

by National Institute of Medical Device Safety Information (NIDS) established under Article 42 of

Medical Device Act. The Non-lead radiation shielding accessories are made of non-lead radiation

shielding sheet which makes them much lighter, more flexible and safer than conventional lead

ones. Unlike conventional lead radiation shielding accessories which are similar and limited designs

due to the thickness of lead sheet, DR-VU manufactures specialized designs for dental, medical,

and veterinary fields. It aims to protect the major organs which are susceptible to radiation except for

the organ for medical purpose as much as possible and to obtain diagnostic images. So it offers

various designs to choose according to the purpose of medical environment.

Specification

There has not been a tool which can protect the thyroid and eyes when taking CBCT, CT, or

panorama in dental hospitals so far. When we use the conventional thyroid collar, we cannot obtain

a diagnostic image. Thus, in dentistry where acquisition of images is a prerequisite, it’s been

common to take images without a thyroid collar. And in veterinary hospitals, when taking images, at

least 2 people have to hold an animal due to its movement. So their hands, as well as their bodies

have to be exposed to total radiation. They can wear a conventional lead apron for body, but it is

really hard to protect their hands with the conventional lead glove because it is heavy and stiff and it

interferes with the image.

But the non-lead radiation shielding accessory has overcome these problems with their flexibility and

structural patented technology. The thyroid collar and cap for dental hospitals are the first products

in the field which can protect the thyroid, head, and eyes from radiation.
