These products have been declared the first class of medical device from The Ministry of Food and
Drug Safety (Product License No. : 17-1263). And this medical device is approved by National
Institute of Medical Device Safety Information (NIDS) established under Article 42 of Medical Device
Act. The Non-lead radiation shielding aprons are made of non-lead radiation shielding sheet which
makes them much lighter, more flexible and safer than conventional lead aprons. Unlike
conventional lead radiation shielding aprons which are similar and limited design due to the
thickness of lead material, DR-VU manufactures specialized designs for dental, medical, and
veterinary fields. It aims to protect the major organs which are susceptible to radiation except for the
organ for diagnostic purpose as much as possible and to obtain diagnostic images. So it offers
various designs to choose according to the purpose of medical environment.
Specification
With thinned non-lead radiation shielding sheet, we can realize various specialized designs and lead
equivalent shielding performance which means we are capable of manufacturing 0.175~0.6 mmPb
(under 100kVp, Filtration: 0.25mmCu) products upon customers’ request. In Korea, the standard of
lead equivalency is 0.25mmPb for medical environment. However, different standards apply to each
country or each field. Basically Rad-Ban protects the major organs such as thyroid, reproductive organs etc.
