NEXT-ATN: MRI-Based Alzheimer's Disease Diagnostics and Therapeutic Window Decision Tool
At NeuroXT Inc., we strive to build novel models to aid clinicians in early diagnostics of Neurodegenerative diseases (Specifically Alzheimer's Disease) and integrate Artificial Intelligence to predict optimal therapeutic windows for relevant drug implementations. NEXT-B, is our new and robust program that takes multimodal MR images to predict and calculate regional Amyloid PET (Positron Emission Tomography) biomarkers of the brain. The model also successfully predicts progression of beta-Amyloid accumulation, which serve as direct biomarkers for severity of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's Disease. Ultimately, this model is aimed to ease the reliance on PET imaging for diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease, and help detect early windows for Amyloid targeting therapeutics. We work hand-in-hand with numerous major radiology departments in local hosopitals and with international pharmaceutic companies for implementation of our model in real-world applications. Our prediction model reached sensitivity of 0.9.
Software Flow
NEXT-ATN is not constrained to Internet/Server Connections. This is a standalone software built to work in local PC environments. As visualized above, this software takes in input NIfTI (.nii) MR images (T1 and DWI modalities) with relevant subject demographics to output regional Amyloid Uptake Ratios, Tau Retention Values and Atrophy Information (regions are segmented according to Deikan-Killiany Tourville Brain Atlas). All necessary output information can be visualized in our program and a summarized report with relevant values are also provided as outputs. All other files and data during preprocessing of images are also saved to output directories and a more detailed information regarding those file names will be provided in a user manual.
