Betulin (exctracted from birch-tree bark) is used in food production as a biologically active component for enrichment, as a biologically active supplement by itself and also as a biologically active component of cosmetics.

Betulin is a naturally occurring pentacyclical triterpine extracted from the bark of the Betulae family trees. 

Betulin is somewhat soluble in alcohols and fats and practically insoluble in water. It could be consumed by one of the following methods:

·        as a suspension in milk fat or vegetable oil;

·        as a dry premix with other food products (for example, wheat flour);

·        as a premeasured mix with a ready-made product (fruit puree, milk, cottage cheese or honey).
