Shanghai Aerospace Equipments Manufacturer was founded in 1921, attaching to Shanghai Academy of space Technology under China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, in which special welding center of COSTIND and state-level enterprise technical center were built. The enterprise has authoritative research institution in friction stir welding and friction stir spot welding technology. A number of domestic firsts were developed in the enterprise who was authorized production patent licensing by TWI.

Aerospace Engineering Equipment (Suzhou) Co.,Ltd is the wholly-owned subsidiaries, it’s the professional manufacturer of friction stir welding(FSW) equipment and friction stir spot welding(FSSW)equipment inland. The company focuses on the development and application of the FSW technology as well as market sales of FSW and FSSW equipments on China market. By research and development of self-dependent innovation, series of high-end equipments have been developed successfully, including 1D、planar 2D and spatial 3D FSW equipments, with the maximum welding dimension 12000mm×5000mm and welding thickness 0.3mm-150mm, the material covers aluminum alloy、copper alloy、magnesium alloy etc, and the technologies of parallel mechanism、servo withdraw have been applied in FSW equipment at the earliest. 

The equipments are widely applied in varieties of high-end industries of aerospace、rail transit、automobile、shipbuilding、power electronics, etc. Many FSW equipments have been supplied to many companies in different fields.

In 2009, the company successfully developed the domestic first FSSW equipment, which was subsequently exhibited in Beijing Essen Welding show. In July 2010,  the cooperation agreement was signed with Germany RIFTEC, which makes us the only development、production and sales supplier of FSSW equipment in China.
