Physical and chemical properties:
Tech. product is yellow to brown viscous oil. B.p. 187-190/0.2 mmHg. solubility in water is 0.004 ppb (20). in acetone , dichloromethane, methanol, diethyl ether, ethyl acetate, hexane, toluene, all >500g/l(20). stable to light.
Toxicity: Acute oral LD50 to rats is 166mg/kg. Acute dermal LD50 to male rats is 1000-2500 mg/kg. Moderate eye irritant; not a skin irritant.

Uses: Cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid pesticide and acaricide used to control a wide range of pests in a variety of applications. Pests controlled include aphids, Colorado beetles and butterfly larvae. Crops on which it may be applied include cotton, cereals, hops, ornamentals, potatoes, vegetables or others. It may also be used for structural pest management or in public health applications to control insects such as cockroaches, mosquitoes, ticks and flies which may act as disease vectors
