Glass Bubbles for Oil Well Cementing

Oil well cementing using low density cements offers improved production, less remediation, reduced formation damage and better zonal isolation.

As an additive to casing cements, Glass Bubbles prevent formation damage by reducing hydrostatic pressure on the wellbore wall from the rising slurry. They can decrease well cement density to as low as 0.72kg/l (6lb/gal). Their incompressibility also provides consistent, predictable performance at the surface and at the bottom of the borehole.

Other benefits include:

Low shrinkage

Reduced ‘wait on cure’ time

No multiple staging

Higher yield

Easy mixing with no need for compressors

Relief for lost circulation

No corrosion of steel casing compared to aerated fluids

Good strength at 12 and 24 hours

Low porosity

A number of global oil and gas majors and service companies have undertaken successful oil well cementing jobs using Glass Bubbles in their low density cements.

Company introduction

Sinosteel Maanshan New Material Technology Co.,Ltd. is the former Glass Microspheres division which is a part of Sinosteel Maanshan Institute of Mining Research Co., Ltd. Since 2013,Glass Microspheres Division is divided from Sinosteel Maanshan Institute of Mining Research Co., Ltd. to become an independent company named Sinosteel Maanshan New Material Technology Co.,Ltd. Sinosteel Maanshan New Material Technology Co.,Ltd. is specialized in manufacturing high performance hollow glass microspheres(glass bubbles) as weight reducing agent with high crush strength for lightweight cement slurries(oil well cementing) / low-density oil drilling fluids, also as functional additives for lighweight composites / modified plastics, thermal insulation paints/coatings and many other applications with very good quality. Since our price is very competitive.3M glass bubbles( hollow glass microsphere) can be replaced with lower costs! Y series is a specific series for oil well from us.We now have a grade Y12000,which true density is 0.60g/cc with a 12000psi crush strength. Major well known Customers in a wide range applications. Composites:EXEL,AXSON,SINOMA,SHOWA Oil industry:Halliburton,CNOOC,CNPC,NAPESCO and more! More and more in paints and other industries! Free sample is available for your evaluation if needed.
