Ordinary feeding cushions

Material;

Filling material for all feeding cushions available in the current market is sponge, which gives ill effect to the new born baby with incomplete skeletogeny.

Structure 1: Currently marketed cushions are designed to lay down the baby to feed, which may easily cause vomiting or choking. It can also cause inflammation of the middle ear.

Structure 2: It’s natural that the baby is leaned towards mother at the time of breastfeeding. However, ordinary feeding cushions are designed to wear in perpendicular with mother’s waist, and the baby is laid down on the cushion at a right angle with mother. So, mother has to use hands to turn the baby towards mother, resulting in very uncomfortable postures for baby like just turning the neck or lying sideways.

Structure 3: Correct posture for baby should be that baby’s ear, shoulder and buttocks are aligned at the time of breastfeeding. However, the baby forms a curve in the ordinary cushions.

Structure 4: Baby’s mouth and mother’s nipple should be horizontal at the time of breastfeeding. However, they are at a right angle in ordinary cushion.

Structure 5: Ordinary cushion causes backache to mother because mother has to bend down towards the baby to breastfeed.
