Description of SEGANGLED Light

The important aspects of SEGANG's LED Light which are differentiating it from other products show how much strenuous efforts SEGANGmade to create the optimum design for connecting LED and lighting device.

The important parts in determining the lifetime of LED in LED Light are LED and lighting device.
The device means the parts such as the case of the lighting device, internal PCB, SMPS, and etc. LED would last as long as its own lifetime only when such device and LED are structured by the optimal design.

We, SEGANG, designed LED LIGHT using the highly reliable US CREE Company’s best grade POWER LED, XP-G and manufactured the LED LIGHT in an optimum condition simultaneously designing the peripheral devices such as SMPS to make best use of LED’s lifetime. 

The reason for doing so is that even though LED’s lifetime is long, if the lifetime of the peripheral devices is not long enough to support it, the long lifetime of LED would not have a significant meaning.

We would like to show you such our efforts from the next chapter. 

1. LED (performance and reliability of CREE XP-G LED)Led Street

SEGANG LED Light enhanced highly its reliability and performance by using CREE LED Power Chip XP-G which is one of the best ones in reliability and performance among the existing LED Power Chips.

Why we use XPG of Cree?

Energy Star is an international standard for energy efficientconsumer products originated in the United States of America. It was first created as a United States government program during the early 1990s, but Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan and the European Union have also adopted the program. Devices carrying the Energy Star logo, such as computer products and peripherals, kitchen appliances, buildings and other products, generally use 20%–30% less energy than required by federal standards.

 2. Heat radiation of LED

LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a device that emits light by combining electron and hole by letting current in the compound semiconductor terminals.  However, since LED has a characteristic to consume the power into heat, the higher impression of power on LED would increase the heat generated in the device, which results in the decrease of efficiency and affects the lifetime of LED greatly.

(Therefore, SEGANG uses only 560mA which is 35% level of 1,500mA, the maximum impressionable calorific value of Cree XP-G LED Chip by increasing the quantity of LED).

Therefore, minimizing the heat generation of LED and how well the generated heat can be released to outside are the most important elements in LED Light.

3. Solving corrosion problems 

Almost all metals become oxidized when meeting oxygen and water. 
In addition, sea water (chlorine), acid composition, etc. increase the speed of corrosion and such erosion causes a secondary problem.

SEGANGLED uses aluminum or stainless steel materials for all the external parts to prevent such corrosion, and especially prevents aluminum from corrosion with anodizing treatment.

In addition, the inside of LED Lighting Device is made as a semi-vacuum state not to allow moisture and oxygen getting into it so that any possible internal corrosion and problems caused by such corrosion can be perfectly blocked.

4. Waterproof

SEGANG LED and SMPS obtained IP68 which is the highest waterproof grade. 

This is a level that the device can be used even in the water, through which the inside of the LED lighting device was made as a semi-vacuum state so that the penetration of external oxygen, moisture, dust and etc. as well as the possibility of internal corrosion can be completely blocked(high pressure water cleaning is available) 

5. Earthquake Resistant Design

We completely solve the problem of the light shaking by strong wind or breakaway from the pole by ground quivering caused by vehicles or earthquake by EPDM Fastener

6. Using the glass protection panel(Option)

The lifetime of PC (Polycarbonate) used as an existing LED protection panel LED is generally 3-5 years and does hardly last more than 10 years even if it is treated with the UV coating. It has the disadvantage of getting more opaque as time goes by. To solve such problem, SEGANGadopted the Glass protection panel which can be used semi-permanently.

7. LED light has no Mercury

Mercury, the most toxic heavy metal

Minamata disease is a typical example of mercury poisoning. Mercury in the industrial wastewater in Minamata city bioaccumulated in shellfish, which when eaten by the local populace resulted in mercury poisoning. More than 1,000 deaths were reported then and the risk of mercury poisoning was recognized worldwide since.

1. Risk of Mercury Poisoning

Mercury can accumulate in brain more easily than other heavy metals and cause damages to the central nervous system.

Its symptoms include narrowing of the field of vision and damage to hearing and speech, walking difficulties due to numbness in the hands and feet and mental disorder.

Women are more at risk than men as congenital form of the disease can also affect fetuses in the womb; mercury levels in a fetus's blood are 3 times higher than those in the mother's blood, mercury levels in a fetus's brain are 5-10 times higher than those in the mother's brain.

2. Mercury in daily life

Mercury is contained in deep sea fishes as well as in waste fluorescent lamp, light bulb, thermostat, battery, germicide, insecticide, diuretic and agricultural pesticide. Mercury is a stable element remained in the air and cannot be broken down or otherwise destroyed, unlike other pollutants that can be decomposed or removed by high heat. Therefore mercury requires special handling.

A product can demonstrate its ability fully

when every part consisting in the product works properly.

Understanding any small problem in a part can affect

the lifetime of LED no matter how good LED is used,
