In the Motronic with ETC,contrary to conventional engine management systems,the degree of acceleration desired by the driver is no longer transmitted to the throttle via a cable,but recorded by a pedal sensor and passed on to the auto ECU.the accelerator-pedal module is a preassembled component group which,besides the pedal sensor itself,incorporates an auto-specific accelerator plate.the Motronic control unit evaluates the sensor signal and controls the electrically powered throttle valve,under consideration of other vehicle and engine data.
