Korea Aerospace Industries is the only vertically integrated aircraft manufacturer in the Republic of Korea(ROK), created by consolidation of three leading aerospace industries in October 1999 in line with the national policy to enhance the growth of the domestic aerospace industry.
Since its establishment with clear vision to become one of the top ten aerospace companies in the world by 2010, KAI has endeavored to develop Korea's aerospace industry by securing advanced aerospace technologies, promoting related industries and developing indigenous aircraft products, which led to significant achievements in its pursuit.By exporting the KT-1 Basic Trainer to Indonesia, KAI opened up the era of exporting indigenous aircraft. And through the success of T-50 Supersonic Advanced Jet Trainer, KAI raised the status of korea as the 12th country capable of developing supersonic aircraft.
With the serial production contract of T-50, KT-1 and KO-1 Forward Airborne Controller, KAI has successfully transitioned to a fully integrated aircraft designer and manufacturer. Furthermore, KAI has expanded its programs by including production of F-15K fighter components, Lynx helicopters upgrade program, KF-16 fighters production and sole source production of Apache Helicopter for Boeing.
Successfully expanding its business portfolio, KAI will continue to endeavor building mid and long-term foundations for stable growth through the export of T-50 and KT-1, promoting of new national defense programs such as the Korean Multi-role Helicopter(KMH), the Maritime Patrol Aircraft(MPA) and the Korean Indigenous Fighter(KFX) program as well as expanding commercial business by strengthening partnerships with global aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus.
KAI will strive to provide the best value to its customers and to make life better for mankind. We trust that you will be with us every step of the way for the new future.
