Product Information
The ANITIA series, including ANITIA Canine IgE I and ANITIA Feline IgE I, offers cutting-edge in vitro diagnostic solutions for the quantitative detection of allergen-specific IgE in canine and feline serum. These tests are designed to provide accurate and comprehensive insights into atopic allergy, a hypersensitive immune condition mediated by IgE antibodies. Atopic allergies result from allergens stimulating lymphocyte B cells to produce IgE antibodies, which bind to mast cells and basophilic leukocytes. Upon re-exposure, these allergens trigger cell degranulation, releasing vasoactive amines that cause symptoms such as itching, swelling, smooth muscle contraction, and fluid leakage. These reactions can manifest clinically as dermatitis, hives, hay fever, asthma, or even anaphylactic shock. Measuring IgE levels is essential for diagnosing and managing these conditions effectively.
The ANITIA series employs multiplex enzyme immunoassay technology, enabling the simultaneous testing of dozens of allergens in one test. Nitrocellulose membranes, embedded with allergens at regular intervals, are arranged in parallel using an innovative design, surpassing conventional single-lane membrane products. During testing, allergen-specific IgE in the sample binds to immobilized allergens on the membrane. After a washing step, biotin-coupled anti-canine IgE antibodies bind to the immobilized IgE, followed by streptavidin conjugated with alkaline phosphatase capturing the biotin. The final incubation step involves adding a substrate, which reacts with the enzyme to produce a measurable color intensity proportional to the IgE concentration.
