Kamukamu is one of the Peruvian herbs native to the rainforest of the Amazon, and its scientific name is myrciaria dubia, which belongs to the plum family, with plant height of about 3-8m and a fruit diameter of about 1-3cm. Kamukamu called the last fruit given by God by local natives and is known as plant of universal control.

This can said to be due to production of anthocyanins, which is physiologically active substances, as green Kamukamu fruit matures through red and purple.

Among the fruits currently known, 3045mg/100g of vitamin C is the largest, 1,400mg/100g of polyphenol, and rich minerals including potassium. It contains many healthy ingredients such as citric acid and hyaluronic acid, so it can do said that the Kamukamu fruit itself has a great influence on human health.

Currently, in Peru, the location of Kamukamu is called the treasure of the Amazon, and the plant itself (including fruit) is one of the plants prohibited from leaking out of Peru.

Recently, it has attracted the attention as phenomenal fruit in Japan and is highly regarded as an ingredient for health food, beverage, and cosmetics in the processed state of the fruit itself.
