Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid, which is a component of the human cell membrane. It is known to play an important role in the activation of several key signaling pathways in the brain. There are researches that show phosphatidylserine may reduce the cognitive impairment of elderly people.
Phosphatidylserine is considered as a GRAS material and can be used in various food categories such as dairy products, nutritional bars, fruit flavored drinks. But due to its poor water solubility its application has been very limited.
HydroPS™ is a solubilized phosphatidylserine product generated by the HydroParticle™ technology. It is easily dispersible in water, so it can be conveniently used for various types of foods including beverages with the extra benefit of enhanced bioavailability.
