Natural asphalt founder
Natural asphalt is sourced by BITUMAX USA in Iran.
It was originally medium gravity oils migrated into uplifted and intensively thrusted anticlines due to collision of natural asphalt with Muna block.
Severe deformation eroded cap rocks of the reservoirs where oils came into.
The absence of cap rocks caused meteoric water flushing and biodegradation by bacteria and resulted in asphalt deposits mainly as impregnated materials within carbonates formations.
The additive is used as one quarter of the foundry sand preblend, the other three quarters consisting essentially of clays.
