*Characteristics

- It is a biennial plant growing up to 1.5m tall, and its stem is grooved and branched.
- All parts of the milk thistle, including leaf, stem, root, and seed, are edible, but the most valuable as health functional food is the seed.

  Silymarin, the extract from milk thistle seeds, promotes liver health and regeneration of liver cells, protects the liver cells and tissues, and also has anti-oxidative action.
