Where the FCX starts to depart is with the asymmetries. Yes, this is a highly-asymmetric frame. But not quite as dramatic as it's road progenitor. This reflects both the nature of the forces put on a bike by 'cross racing, but also the necessity of both suitcasing and shouldering the bike. The top tube in particular has a more rounded profile for greater comfort.
Because this is a bike that takes a pounding, Pinarello outfitted this bike with Shimano 105 componentry. It's a workman's group; performs well and easy to replace if anything breaks. Gearing comes set for 'cross, with 46/36 rings and 11-25 ten-speed cassette. For reliable grip in all conditions, Maxxis Raze 33mm clincher tires are employed. Tektro Lyra mechanic disc brakes do the stopping.
