View the home screen to check the time, weather and other status items and swipe for access to special S-View apps/notifications and your camera. If you miss anything, notifications are shown in the recent activity menu of your S-View cover unless certain phone security settings are activated. Your camera can also be accessed without opening the cover to take pictures or video right in the moment. Lastly, there is a new notification bar that allows you to access more than just missed call and text notifications.
