SmartXessTM Cable&IPTV CAS is a technology to protect broadcasting content (Video/Audio/Data) through access
control in Digital Cable&IPTV broadcast service. It is a solution that ensures only authorized subscribers have
access to Digital Cable&IPTV service.

Head-end System is integrated with SMS (Subscriber Management System) and provides CAS Server which
is for transmitting a notice of entitlement to subscribers and Cable&IPTV Scrambler which is for scrambling
broadcasting content (Video/Audio/Data).

CAS Client Module is ported to a mobile device to descramble broadcasting content only for entitled subscribers.
Moreover, based on service provider’s requirements, CAS Client Module could support either Pre-installed on
H/W or Downloadable S/W(XCAS, iCAS) form.
