L2031 is the physical matting agent for hybrid powder coatings, doesn’t contain wax, wide selectivity of polyester. It has better gloss stability, can get 5% gloss. It is better used indoor.

L2031 is the alternative of matt hardener because matt hardener has following shortcomings:

1. Matt hardener must react with epoxy and dosage is larger so that the cost is high.

2. When baking time is longer or baking temperature is higher, yellowing is severer.

Specification and Application

L2031 is used for 50/50, 60/40 or both mixed hybrid powder coating, directly added into the powder. It is physical matting agent, doesn’t affect the proportion of the epoxy/polyester in the original formula.

1. Surface is very smooth and delicate, non-yellowing.

2. Wide selectivity of polyester, for most polyester, it has good matting effective.

3. Good storage stability.

4. Baking temperature :190° C×15min or 180° C×20min.

5. Matting effect is the same for different colors.

Usage

0.5-4% based on total amount of coating formula. The added amount is more, and the gloss is lower. Together with all other components mixed in the high-speed mixer, then through the extruder. Please control the extrusion temperature consistent.

L2031 can be used for all kinds of thermosetting powder coatings.
