Mackerel is often called as 'barley of sea' because mackerel is intimate to common people being highly nutritious like barley and cheap. Mackerel is good for children, examinee and elderly people having essential fatty acid to preserve normal physiological function.

Mackerel has abundant nutrient such as protein, fat, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin D, also it has much DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid).

DHA and EPA lessen cholesterol in the blood so that they prevent high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis. Selenium, inorganic matter that is abundant in mackerel, helps prevent oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids. Also, selenium is known for preventing diseases of adult people such as cancer, liver diseases and heart diseases.

  1. Prepare Cheong-Ryong Fisheries mackerel (2 fish) and one radish. Slice radish like photo 1.
  2. Spread sliced radish in a hollow pot and put washed mackerel on that.
  3. Mix soy sauce, sugar and powdered red pepper, and add water as twice as the quantity of soy sauce. Pour that sauce on mackerel.
  4. After covering lid, fire it for about 5 minutes and then wait 5 minutes more after changing to weak fire. Let the soup remain just a little. It may burn when the fire is too strong.
  5. You can enjoy sweet hard-boiled mackerel and smooth radish with sauce.
