Melons are light gray in color and elliptical in shape. They have thick reticulated skin with clear patterns, and their flesh is light green or yellow in color and is soft to chew. When buying melons, be sure to choose ones whose skin has dense reticulated pattern and is hard but the bottom is soft, and whose stalk is not dry. Furthermore, they must be sweet, have a good flavor, and not squashy.
